Shawn Srolovitz, a twelve year old boy from Manalapan, New Jersey, was challenged to come up with a charity-based project for his upcoming Bar Mitzvah.  Recognizing that so many families have found themselves in difficult times, he decided to focus on a local Food Pantry, the “Freehold Area Open Door.”  Rather than simply collecting canned food or money from friends and family to donate to the organization, he thought that publishing a cookbook of favorite recipes from people he knew would be a great way to raise money for the organization.  “Food for Thought” is the name of the cookbook that is now ready for sale at $10.00 per book.  100% of the profits of the sales will be donated to Open Door.
